Photo submission terms

Before you send room photos.

These terms are a practical starting point for See It At Home photo submissions and should not be treated as legal advice. If this feature becomes a paid service or accepts direct uploads, the terms should be reviewed by a qualified attorney.

Your permission to use the photos

By sending room photos, you confirm that you own the photos or have permission from the person who owns them. You also confirm that you have permission from the people who live in or control access to the room.

You give See It At Home permission to review the photos, edit copies of the photos, remove or replace visible furniture and decor, create room concepts from them, and use the images to prepare design notes and product recommendations for you.

How the room image may be edited

Submitted images may be digitally simplified. Existing furniture, accessories, clutter, wall decor, or other visible items may be removed or changed so the room can be shown with a new decorating direction. New concepts may include Amazon-based furniture, lighting, rugs, wall decor, storage, plants, and other product ideas.

Affiliate links and product details

See It At Home is an Amazon-focused affiliate site. Product ideas may include Amazon affiliate links, and I may earn from qualifying purchases. Affiliate links do not change the price you pay.

Room concepts are inspiration previews. Amazon listing pages are the source of truth for exact product photos, dimensions, materials, colors, price, coupons, availability, shipping, returns, reviews, and purchase options.

Privacy and personal items

Only send photos you are comfortable sharing for review. Before sending an image, remove or crop anything private, including faces, family photos, addresses, mail, documents, screens, valuables, children's items, medical information, financial information, or anything else you do not want used as part of the design process.

No professional construction advice

Room concepts are decorating ideas only. They are not architectural, engineering, electrical, plumbing, child-safety, fire-safety, accessibility, contractor, or code-compliance advice. You are responsible for measuring your room, checking product dimensions, and confirming that any item is safe and appropriate for your home.

Public examples

If a submitted room is ever considered for use as a public example on the website, identifying details should be removed or additional permission should be confirmed first. You can ask that your submitted photos not be used publicly.

Requests and removal

To ask a question about a submitted room photo or request removal of a submitted image from future use, email hello@seeitathome.com.
