This room has the kind of bones I love working with: tall walls, a big window, clean tile, and enough open floor to make a real seating zone. Before picking pieces, I cleared the photo digitally because no room should be sentenced to decor by leftover clutter.

My goal would be soft, affordable, and not overdone. A small sofa anchors the window side, a round coffee table keeps traffic easy, one dark green chair brings in color, and rustic wall shelves give the big wall a practical focal point. The goal is to make the space feel calmer, more useful, and more intentional without overfilling the room.

The room move

I would keep the biggest wall from feeling empty by placing the sofa low and simple, then letting the chair and plant add height. The tile floor needs softness, so a rug becomes more than decoration here. It makes the seating group feel like one intentional zone instead of a product lineup waiting to be monetized.

The mistake I would avoid is lining every wall with furniture. This room needs breathing room in the center so it still feels open when people walk through.

This is the cleared version of the original room photo. I use it as the planning layer before placing furniture so the layout is driven by the real wall, window, tile, and walkway instead of whatever a generic internet room swears is "effortless."

What I would add next, after further investigation

• A warm floor lamp near the chair so the corner works at night.
• A washable rug sized large enough to touch the front legs of the main seating.
• One olive tree or tall plant to pull the eye up the big wall.
• Neutral pillow covers so the room feels finished without becoming busy.
